Contexts
Narrative
-
- A substantial possible ring ditch, bell shaped, with 2 fills, (6175) & (6176). True extent of ditch is unknown due to limits of excavation, however there is a noticeable curve to the ditch as well as a small, shallow gully that mirrors the curve of this ditch inside the enclosure, making this part of a double ring enclosure. Gully cuts are [6195] & [6197]. This ditch is cut by a Roman ditch to the north, F#606. The return of the ring ditch may be picked up in later excavation when the trench is continued down to the road. The ditch was 1.25m wide and 0.65m deep.
