Narrative

    • This was an Iron Age pit located adjacent to a burial F#525, the pit fully truncated a gully F#521. The pit has a length of 1.57m, a width of 1.53m and a depth of 0.50m. It contained two fills. The primary fill (5167) was a firm grey brown sandy clay. The secondary fill (5086) was a firm dark grey brown sandy clay. The cut [5085] was typical of the Iron Age pits in the trench, being steep sided with a flat bottom.
