Narrative

    • A large pit in the east of trench 4 near the corn dryer F#933. It was 1.90 meters long, 1.64 meters wide and 0.50 meters deep. It contained two fills. The basal fill was a bright greyish green clay indicating that there had been standing water in the bottom of the pit for a prolonged period of time. The pit cut an east to west running Roman boundary ditch F#414.
