Narrative
-
- A probable Roman burial, east west aligned skeleton The grave cuts an earlier pit F#603. The cut was 1.80 meters long, 0.54 meters wide and had a maximum depth of 0.18 meters. The skeleton was placed on its back with the arms crossed by the pelvis and the legs extended. The fill of the grave was a moderately firm mid greyish brown clayey silt with frequent chalk fragments and occasional flint pieces. There is probably some mixing of the fills between the grave and pit F#603 which may have occurred when the grave was cut into the pit.
