Short Description:
Cut of possible post pit, cut by robbed out column base in slot 9004
Issued to
Ben Swain | 11/01/2021

Interpretation

    • Cut of a potential post pit. This pit lies directly underneath the robbed out column base in slot 9004 and is cut by it. It is almost exactly half filled by chunks of chalk whilst the other half is a very rich organic soil, possibly indicating a post rotten in situ that had originally been packed with chalk.
