Short Description:
Cut of ring gully. - Duplicate of [4929]
Issued to
Henry Callender | 19/02/2020

Interpretation

    • Originally thought to be a continuation of ditch [4791], after excavation demonstrates it is actually likely a third ring enclosure that lies between the deep outer ditch and the shallow inner gully. 4809 is very shallow, similar shape to the inner gully. Because it’s so shallow it has been over truncated out in places which explains why it was difficult to see in places. No relationship in this slot, however in other slots it appears to be the earliest phase of the ring enclosure.
