Interpretation

    • Upper fill of a Roman boundary ditch, lots of artefacts in this fill including SF#79 which was a cu alloy brooch, pottery (2nd-4th century roman??), animal bone, and tiles. A moderately soft friable, dark greyish brown silty clay with stone of all sizes, charcoal flecks, some splodges of clay.
