Cut of large ditch with 3 fills.

Interpretation

    • Cut of large ditch, 1.2m depth. That is cut by all the features going into it making it an early feature in the sequence of this site. Pottery could be early Iron Age however dating of the pottery will confirm. In this slot it is being cut by pit [4646]. A dark layer [4644] lies over the top of this ditch. It could be a top fill of this ditch or a spread from the pit however the true nature is not clear. The ditch has 3 fills.
