Skeleton within grave cut [4264] aligned NE-SW next to ditch and building. Skeleton found with comb.

Interpretation

- Adult burial. Adult found with decorated comb, dating to the roman period. Grave in close proximity to roman villa. Fill had large inclusions that looked the same as the stone making up the villa foundations, and tegula was found in the fill, grave potentially cut after the villas ruin.

- lying on its back, upper mandible not present, machine bought the top of skull
- lying by its side, lower arms crossing over body with presumably resting on pelvis but very few bones could be seen.

- bone preservation was good, but the burial had been disturbed post depositions. Very few vertebra were visible and those that where were not in original position. skull disturbed by machine.
