Interpretation

    • Dump layer at E end of building, utilising convenient access point for barrows/dumpers, and considerably thicker toward the E wall.

Description

  • loose
  • mid greyish brown
  • Clay silt layer
  • large quantity of domestic/houshold waste, likely originating from redecorating /rebuilding nearby structures.
  • Observed in slot 3. L. 4.0m; W. 3.0m; D0.40m
  • Deposit varied and undulating due to large stones and boulders dumped in to the cellar, in addition to others fallen in from structure walls.
  • Hand - trowel, mattock, and shovel.
