Dig-Venturer

Explore the open archaeological data from our digs at Digging Darrow

  • I'm an associate professor of English at Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts, specializing in medieval English and Scandinavian literature.
  • Archeology is a personal as well as professional interest. I spent a week with DigVentures in Lindisfarne in 2017, and since I can't get back there this year, I'm coming to Darrow to keep my hand in and to learn about a bit of history closer to home!
  • It was great I know virtually noting about Shakers and I feel like were digging back through layers to the shakers. I don’t know how many Shaker things we actually found, but we got to see not just the theoretical site, but the real layers of history on top of it. We WILL do it again. I can’t think of what to make it better, maybe more tea breaks.
