  • Developing my second life, after retiring as an electric and gas utility project manager (energy conservation programs, renewables, emergency response, retail competition, radio system, environmental impact statements, system planning, etc.) Currently focusing on volunteer activities, online learning, and the occasional archaeological dig.
  • I've begun to focus on digs in upstate New York, so this opportunity fit right in. I'm also curious about various models and approaches professional archaeologists use to leverage volunteer support, and look forward to better understanding DigVentures through the Darrow lens.
  • I enjoyed the process, and some of the conversations with the team members – both staff and Venturers. Just enjoying the opportunity to discuss all sorts of things, with people who like this kind of intellectual and physical challenge. It’s about meeting likeminded people with similar interests. The main thing I learned about the archaeological process, the difference between European and American methods. That presentation by Laurie Rush was fabulous.
