Narrative

    • A large pit in the south west of trench 4, it was 1.55m long, 1.25m wide and 0.66m deep. This feature cut another large pit F420. There were 3 fills within the feature, in the upper fill, much like F415, F416 and F420, there were large stones in the top, whether they were put there deliberately as post packing or part of demolition in the area is not certain. In the lower fill (4058) a coin SF17 was recovered, it looked like it could be a coin of Hadrian. A sample was also taken from this fill <7>.
